About
MUSIC
The Vox Collective is a community choir based in Edmonton, Alberta. We welcome music lovers of all ages (19+) and skill levels —whether you're new to exploring your passion for music or reigniting an old flame.
We break the mold. We cover arrangements of Folk, Rock, Alternative, Pop and Electronic songs.
This isn’t your typical choir; we're all about variety and vibe! We'll sing timeless classics from Fleetwood Mac and Nina Simone, add in some haunting harmonies from Radiohead and Cat Power, and rock out to anthems by The Tragically Hip and The Lumineers. We’ll channel the indie spirit with artists like Bon Iver, Feist, Valerie June, and Gregory Alan Isakov, and groove to the electronic beats of Sylvan Esso. We may even sing (okay, we will) some a cappella and clap our hands and snap. We've got heart ✌︎︎
Audition? Forget about it. The only requirement is a love of singing. Bonus if you have a musical background! Our choir is set at about 50-60 members, with five sections: Baritone, Tenor, Low Alto, High Alto and Soprano. We're music lovers, makers, and shakers, and we continue to develop and improve our musical skills. We'll be deep-diving into pitch, rhythm, harmonies, and melodies—all within a relaxed atmosphere.
COMMUNITY
This is an inclusive, judgement-free zone. We celebrate music from various genres and welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds. If that doesn't align, sorry not sorry, this isn't the place for you:)
The Vox Collective is about fun, creativity, and community. Under the Direction of Candice Bartlett—plus a rotating lineup of incredible Guest Directors from Edmonton’s vibrant music scene—we jam together, explore, and play. Our vibe is casual, our music-making is joyful, and our focus is on connection, not perfection.
We bring together music lovers from every background and skill level. From festivals and shows to community fundraisers, we’re proud to add our voice to Edmonton’s arts scene while giving back to local charities and groups.
CONNECTION
Our choir is a space for connecting with others who have a common interest in music and singing. Prepare to have fun, and make friends. We're always open to new members! We’ve got a waitlist open for upcoming sessions—and spots do open up, so don’t miss your chance to get on the list!
